Russian Post, together with Aeromax and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug government, has successfully tested cargo delivery with an unmanned aerial vehicle.
The SH-350 helicopter drone took part in the test. It made several flights on the Salekhard-Aksarka-Salekhard route with a weight and size model of the cargo. The total length of the path from one settlement to another is 53 km. By the end of 2024 Russian Post plans to launch unmanned delivery along 10 routes in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
According to the company’s estimates, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles will increase the average speed of logistics on the regional route network by up to2 times, and in the future it will increase the volume of freight traffic by more than 10 times and reduce the cost of logistics services by up to 50%.
