1/ Russian Post is to launch a logistics centre in Krasnodar with a processing capacity of 200 million items per year

By the end of 2022 Russian Post will launch a logistics centre in Krasnodar, which will be able to process up to 200 million mail items annually. The equipment is currently being installed and tested. The service area of ​​the logistics centre is the Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea.

The centre will become part of a large logistics project that Russian Post is implementing together with VTB Group. After the project of building a network of logistics centres is completed, delivery time for online orders and letters to major cities of the country will be reduced to one day, and to regional centres – to 3 days.

2/ Russian e-commerce market grew by 40-43% in 2021

This was concluded by the experts of INFOLine, an information and analytical agency.

According to their estimates, for now the share of the online channel is 11% of the total trade mass. The figure is expected to double by 2025.

In non-food retail 17% of products are already sold online. In Moscow the share of e-commerce is higher and amounts to 22%, while in St. Petersburg it is 17%. According to INFOLine experts, by 2025 the share of the channel will increase to 33% and 29% respectively.

3/ Data Insight: in 2021 1,570 million items were delivered in Russia

This conclusion was made by the experts of Data Insight agency while preparing the final report "Logistics for e-commerce, 2021". The figure is 78% higher than in 2020.

According to analysts, 82% of orders last year were picked up by the clients themselves.

In total, today experts count more than 50,000 pickup points in Russia: 38% are classic pickup points, 33% are lockers, and 27% are offline stores.

“Today, the infrastructure of Russian Post comprises more than 38,000 post offices throughout the country. Thanks to its own network, maximum geographical coverage is ensured when delivering in Russia. At the same time, courier delivery is available in 11,400 localities”, the company said. “Various last-mile delivery types and wide geographic coverage help us deliver a positive customer experience and support our partners’ business growth.”
